PATENT GRANT No.2021103856
GRANTED DATE: 25/08/2021

Abstract :
(EN) In one aspect of the present disclosure, a method for treatment for methylmercury-contaminated industrial wastewater is disclosed. The method includes providing earthworm
E.Fetida to the wastewater, for absorption of methylmercury, followed by passing the methyl
mercury-free water through different levels of gravel of different thicknesses mixed with sand.
The method involves adding fly ash to the treated water. The E.Fetida is a vermin composting.
The E.Fetida treats contaminated soil. The soil is acidic. The soil has organic contents in the
range of 2 to 7.7.

THE CLAIMS DEFINING THE INVENTION ARE AS FOLLOWS:

  1.  A method for treatment for methyl mercury-contaminated industrial wastewater
comprised: providing earthworm E.Fetida to the wastewater, for absorption of methyl
mercury; passing the methyl mercury-free water through different levels of gravel of different
thicknesses mixed with sand, and adding flash to the treated water.
  2.  The method of claim 1, wherein the E.Fetida is a vermin-composting.
  3. Use of the method of claim 1, wherein the EFetida treats contaminated soil.
  4. The method of claim 3, wherein the soil is acidic.
  5. The method of claim 3, wherein the soil has organic contents in the range of 2 to 7.7.
