Mechanical engineering is a discipline of engineering that applies the principles of physics and materials science for analysis, design, manufacturing, and maintenance of mechanical systems. It is the branch of engineering that involves the production and usage of heat and mechanical power for the design, production, and operation of machines and tools. It is one of the oldest and broadest engineering disciplines.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering was established in 2006 with the aim to provide best knowledge and environment. The duration of the course is 4 years and the degree offered is Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering. This Department is one of the key strengths of the Institute. The intake of the department is 210 students per year. It is making very sincere efforts to produce excellent Mechanical Engineering graduates to meet the present day needs of organizations and the Industry.

The experienced and dedicated faculties along with its excellent facilities provide the necessary resources to keep the students updated with the latest industrial trends. The department has created state of the art infrastructure in terms of Workshops, Laboratories and other facilities for smooth implementation of the B-Tech/M-Tech Program.
